AFSS - Asia-Pacific Financial Security Summit Retrospective | The Practice of Security Validation in the Financial Industry

On September 2, 2022, the 3rd AFSS-Asia Pacific Financial Security Summit hosted by ONESEC was successfully held in Beijing! With the theme of "Guarding Finance, Securing People's Livelihood", nearly twenty senior security experts and heads of security shared and discussed the best security practice experience in the financial industry. Wang Jingpu, CTO of SecurityCheck, was invited to share the practical experience of security validation in the financial industry at this summit.

Regarding the theme of the practice of security validation in the financial industry, Manager Wang Jingpu discussed from three parts on site, including international and domestic wind vanes of security validation, changes in defensive thinking brought by new technologies, and practical cases of SecurityCheck.

Security validation technology evolved from Breach and Attack Simulation (BAS) technology. According to Gartner's forecast, it will be widely adopted by markets in various fields worldwide in the next 2-5 years. In recent years, domestic "Cybersecurity Law" and "Data Security Law" also require organizations to conduct regular drills and possess the capability to guarantee a continuous state of security. Enterprise demand for validating security effectiveness is gradually rising. On this basis, the financial field has also begun to explore industry standards for security effectiveness validation.

Security validation technology examines and improves security defense systems from an attacker's perspective. SecurityCheck possesses an attack library covering different attack stages of the complete kill chain, and the attack library also covers all tactics and techniques of ATT&CK.

In the field of the financial industry, SecurityCheck has conducted sufficient practices to help financial enterprises build security as well as provide strategy and technical support to comply with industry compliance requirements, continuously validating the effectiveness of defensive systems.

Security validation technology not only plays an important role in the field of financial security, but can also continuously validate the effectiveness of security construction in various industries currently heavily targeted by cybercriminals, such as healthcare, critical infrastructure, education, manufacturing, and energy. SecurityCheck will track internet hacker groups and vulnerabilities round-the-clock, providing customers with typical and popular APT attack methods collected from the internet, allowing customers to use these real attack scenarios to validate the effectiveness of their defensive systems.
